East Budleigh is a peaceful village set in the heart of the Devon countryside, designated as an "Area of Outstanding Beauty". It nestles in the valley of the Budleigh Brook and sleeps quietly as if in a bygone age. Time passes by this ancient settlement and belies its history as a bustling port, in fact it was the original town of Budleigh. The church bells ring out each Sunday morning, as they have done down the centuries. Past villagers rest in the ancient churchyard and the present generation fill the school and continue their blameless lives.
