In an area formerly occupied by shrub beds we have planted a group of Betula Pendula Silver Birch trees. When established they will be coppiced in rotation, keeping them to a moderate size and creating a habitat for underplanting with small native woodland flowers including wild daffodils, primroses and later wood anemone, ramsons, bluebell and selfheal. This will both add interest for walkers and encourage wildlife.
